The Resource Center of the Alliance Française du Manitoba has about 3000 documents for a broad audience: novels, dictionaries and encyclopedias, comic books, feature films and documentaries (DVDs), music CDs, and French as a second language learning materials.
Since 2008, the highlight of this Resource Center is the audio-visual fund. More than 500 DVD titles are part of the catalogue, most having with English subtitles. These films are French, French-Canadian and other French-speaking (Belgian, Swiss, African and the Middle Eastern) productions.
Through its partnership with CulturesFrance, the Alliance Française du Manitoba regularly receives films edited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France. We also receives educational booklets produced and distributed by the National Center for Cinematography in Paris.
Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM / 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Saturday: 9:15 AM to 12:15 PM
Terms of Use:
Consulting document at the AF is free for all. To access the lending system, it is necessary to be a member of the association. Alliance Française du Manitoba students have borrowing privileges.
Term of Loan:
- Books, comics: 3 weeks
- Movies, CD ROMs, music CDs: 1 week
Extensions:
You can extend your loans by a week, either by e-mail to communications@afwpg.ca, by phoning 477-1515, or by visiting the Alliance Française du Manitoba reception desk.
Penalties:
In case of tardiness, penalties will apply:
- 25 cents per day for books and comics,
- $1 per day for film, CD ROMs, music CDs.
All documents damaged or lost must be repaid according to the current rate.
